1. Overview

Sightline HQ, LLC ("Sightline," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using Sightline, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, company name, and license number.

Inspection data: We store the inspection reports, property addresses, client names and emails, photos, and notes you create using the Service.

Usage data: We automatically collect information about how you use the Service, including pages visited, features used, and device/browser information, for analytics and service improvement.

Payment information: Billing and payment details are processed by Stripe and are not stored on our servers. We only receive a payment confirmation and last-four digits of the card.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• To process your subscription and send billing notifications
• To send transactional emails (report delivery, report-sharing notifications)
• To respond to support requests and communications
• To send product updates and service announcements (you may opt out at any time)
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. AI Processing

When you use AI features (report generation, photo analysis), your inspection data is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. Anthropic's use of this data is governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy. We do not use your inspection data to train AI models.

5. Data Sharing

We share your data only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Anthropic (AI report generation and photo analysis), OpenAI (voice-note transcription), Vercel (hosting), PostHog (product analytics), Sentry (error monitoring), and OpenStreetMap/Nominatim (address lookup). Each provider processes data on our behalf to operate the Service.
• Report sharing: When you share a report link, the recipient can view report data you explicitly share. Shared reports are accessible via a unique link.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data and reports for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., billing records).

7. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted data transmission (TLS), encrypted database storage, and access controls. No system is completely secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and enable two-factor authentication where available.

8. Cookies & Analytics

We use essential cookies to maintain your authenticated session. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Product analytics and crash reporting are collected under a pseudonymous identifier (not your name or email) and can be turned off at any time in Settings → Data & privacy.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Delete your account and associated data (available in-app under Settings → Data & privacy)
• Opt out of marketing communications
• Export a copy of your data (available in-app under Settings → Data & privacy)

You can export your data or permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Data & privacy in the app. To exercise any other right, contact us at privacy@sightlinehq.com.

10. Your Privacy Choices (California & U.S. State Rights)

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not exchange personal information for money or other valuable consideration.

Depending on your state, you may have the right to know, access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of your personal information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights.

To exercise your choices:

• Opt out of product analytics & crash reporting: toggle it off in Settings → Data & privacy in the app.
• Access, export, or delete your data: use Settings → Data & privacy, or email us.
• All other requests (including authorized agents): contact privacy@sightlinehq.com.

11. Children's Privacy

Sightline is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by displaying a notice in the Service at least 14 days before changes take effect.
